Rita E. Ethridge, 25, of 2039 Waverly, was one of two persons killed Saturday, April 25, in a high speed one-car accident near 4198 Germantown Road. She and the the other occupant, Glenn Gauldin, 22, of 4955 Marianne Lane were identified by sheriff's deputies Both were apparently killed instantly in the crash which left their automobile "in pieces" and wrapped around a utility pole.

Services for Miss Etheridge at Memphis Funeral Home on Union with burial in Oak Forest Memorial Gardens.

Miss Etheridge was an employee of American Electric Mfg. Co. She graduated from Memphis Tech High School and attended St. John Catholic Church.

She leaves her mother, Mrs. Estelle Myers of Dyersburg; her father, Parnell Etheridge of 1599 Katham; a sister, Mrs. Celeste Presley of 5194 Cresser and a brother, Leon Etheridge of Galveston, TX.
