Thomas and Charlotte had at least eight children: James, Margaret, Eliza, Emma, Carleton, Harriet, Sarah, and Thomas S.
James served in Company D, 88th Illinois Infantry*, and he died in service in 1862. He immigrated with his parents from Ireland in 1841.

Harriet died in 1852, and Margaret died 9 Sep, 1870. Both Emma and Carleton were deceased at time of publication, in 1893.
