Daisy Alvera Newton was the daughter of Charles Izar and Caroline Tressie Block Newton. She was raised in Brooklyn and graduated with the class of 1923.

She was married to William Henry Stevens on December 02, 1925 in Davenport, Scott County, Iowa. To this union were born three children; two sons William and Melvin and one daughter Kathryn.

The couple spent their entire life in the Ladora and Victor communities where they were engaged in farming prior to moving to Victor in 1960. Daisy was employed at Del Benton's Grocery Store and Seaton's Jack and Jill. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, sewing and solving word search puzzles.

She was a member of the Victor United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and Victor Federated Women's Club.
