Dorothy M. Hyink, 93, of Muscatine, Iowa, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2011, at the Lutheran Homes in Muscatine. Funeral services for Dorothy will be 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.
Burial will be in the Walcott Cemetery. Following the committal services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the church. Visitation for Dorothy will be held on Monday, November 21, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Dorothy Marian Andresen was born on June 20, 1918, in Davenport, Iowa the daughter of Otto and Mary (Guenther) Andresen. Dorothy was a graduate of Brown Business College.
On September 27, 1939, Dorothy was united in marriage to Lester Kistenmacher in Davenport. They later divorced. On April 7, 1973, Dorothy married Donald Hyink in Muscatine.
Dorothy was employed at Lang's Jewelry and at Montgomery Wards. She was a member of the Mulford Evangelical Free Church, Ladies Missionary Society at the church and the Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop. Dorothy was very active in her church, enjoyed bowling, playing cards and dancing.
Dorothy will be deeply missed by her sons, Dennis Kistenmacher and his wife, Barbara of Muscatine and Kent Kistenmacher and his wife, Kathy of Cary, North Carolina; one daughter, Nancy Anderson; four grandchildren, five step grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one granddaughter, Cindy Woolsey, two twin great grandchildren and brother, Wallace Andresen.
