Memorial services were held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, South San Francisco, Calif, for Alan D. Bockes, 75, who died in Sebastopol Convalescent Hospital in Sebastopol, Calif., on Feb. 17 after a long illness.
A native of Borodino, he moved to Massachusetts in 1920. He was superintendent of Goodwill Industries there for 20 years. He was also partner on the family farm in Borodino.
In 1949 he moved to Burlingame, Calif., and in 1951 became employed by Guy F. Atkinson Co., retiring in 1965. He last resided at 933 Edwards Ave., Santa Rosa, Calif. Mr. Bockes was a member of United Methodist Church, South San Francisco, and was a licensed lay minister. He was a veteran of World War I.
Surviving are his wife, Mabel Hoyt Bockes of Santa Rosa, Calif., daughter of the late Harrison L. Hoyt of Auburn; a son, Lawrence Hoyt Bockes, Fosterville; a daughter, Edna B. Alford of Glendale, Calif.; a brother, Frank K. Bockes of Auburn; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Auburn in the spring.
