NOT the father of John Thomas Hickey or Arthur Lee Hickey
The person that has linked those individuals to my grandfather has the wrong William Thomas Hickey and I request that the incorrect parental link be removed connecting them to my grandfather.
Well ma'am I am not trying to upset you but I know all the women my grandfather was married to and NONE of them was Mary.
1st wife: Virgie Goforth, back in the early 1920's short marriage in Ellis county, who was the mother of my Uncle Thomas Bruce Hickey
2nd wife: Lois Romine, Royse City Texas who was the mother of my father, Billy Hickey born 1938, and my uncle Hubbard Hickey born 1941. They were married and living together on their farm in Royse City, Texas when Lois died Nov 25, 1945. Grandfather had to ride his tractor into town to get Dr. Roach when grandmother started dying because they did NOT have a car. By the time he got back with the doctor she had passed and my father was only 7 years old holding her in his arms. So there was NO way my grandfather could of had a second family in Port Aransas, Texas... He would of had to ride that tractor non stop and would not of had time to work a farm and support 2 families.
3rd wife: Mattie Croley (she had 2 daughters and a son from previous marriages... none with my grandfather) who he married when my father was only about 8 years old (would have been about 1946-1947) and was married to the woman until his death on December 25th 1961. When they 1st got married they continued to live on the farm in Royse City. When his health began to fail, mid 1950's, they moved to the Dallas area to be near our family and Mattie's children.
My grandfather is buried in Garland, Texas beside my Uncle Thomas Bruce Hickey.
