Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 15 at 2 p.m. at Shawmut United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Bonner is survived by his wife, Marion S. Bonner; his daughter and son-in-law, Marla and Andy Sivell of Pine Mountain, Ga.; his son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Wanda Bonner of Valley; three grandsons, Shea Sivell of Pine Mountain and Britt Bonner and Bentley Bonner, both of Valley; and several nieces and nephews.
Born Jan. 24, 1932 in Chambers County, Mr. Bonner was retired from Liberty National Life Insurance Co. after 20 years. He was a well known singer in the Wayfarers Quartet, which was popular in the Valley area for 18 years. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Korea. He was a member of Shawmut United Methodist Church. Mr. Bonner was the son of the late Claude and Eula Hill Bonner. He was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma B. Johnson.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Shawmut United Methodist church in his memory. The family will receive friends Friday, April 14 from 7 until 9 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
