Wellington W. Wilson was born in Lisbon, Iowa, February 18, 1851 and died at his home in Lisbon February 28, 1927, having lived 76 years and 10 days.

Mr. Wilson had claimed Lisbon his home throughout his life. He was married to Miss Ella May Kynett on August 17, 1873 at Lisbon. To them were born five children, three sons and two daughters, named respectively: Ross of Cedar Rapids; Cora Colliers* of Denver, deceased; Hattie Studer of Chicago, Clement West of Chicago, and Clayton Weaver of Lisbon. There are also six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mr. Wilson was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows He was town marshal for a time and a member of the first Lisbon band. He was also captain of the local company of militia.

Mr. Wilson was a carpenter and contractor most of his mature life until about ten years ago when he suffered a stroke of apoplexy which incapacitated him for such employment. During the last two years he has been in declining health and for the last few months confined to the house. He was a patient sufferer and leaves to mourn his death, besides the children mentioned, his faithful and devoted wife.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Hunt. Interment was in the Lisbon cemetery.
