Rev. Charles Virgil Anderson, 70, died Friday in his home in Kingsport.

Anderson, a native of Pulaski, had resided in Kingsport the past seven years.

He is an ordained Methodist minister and has served in several churches in Virginia and Tennessee. Churches include: Little Walker circuit, Carter Street Church, Radford, Rich Creek Methodist, Mt. Carmel Methodist, and as associate pastor of Muncey Memorial Methodist Church in Johnson City. He had served at Grange Hall and Lebanon United Methodist Churches as well.

Survivors include his wife, Stella Anderson of Kingsport and one. daughter, Mrs. Jack (Velma) Vicars of Kingsport and one son, Wayne Anderson of Johnson City.

He is also survived by four sisters; Thelma Lewey, Princeton, W.Vs., Bertha East and Alma Hanks, both of Pulaski, and Ruth Frost of Deep River. Four brothers, all of Pulaski; Harry Anderson, James Anderson, Clifton Anderson and Carl Anderson.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Thorn Spring United Methodist Church with the Rev. Nelson Woody and Rev. Richard Looney officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 12 noon, Monday. Family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the downtown chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Memorial gifts may be made to Lebanon United Methodist, Grange Hall or Thorn Spring United Methodists Churches
