According to Melody (?), Benjamin Thomas Akins (BT) married Nancy M Payne December 26, 1889 in Cherokee County, Georgia. They had 5 children: Oscar E, Cleo Alma, William Luther, James Lester and Floyd D. Nancy dies in 1903 and is buried at Shoal Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Cherokee County. Oscar died in 1904 and is also buried there. Ben then married Rosa Lee Stone on December 24, 1904 again in Cherokee County, Georgia. By 1910 they were in Marion County, Alabama along with Cleo, Lester, Luther and Floyd. They also have additional children. All four of the other children are married in Marion County. Most are still there in 1920 and 1930, by 1940, Ben, Rosa and the kids were all in Tift County, Georgia. I found his death in Tift County on August 14, 1941. I have sent updates to link all of the children to Nancy except William Luther for whom I have not found a burial place. Nancy is a cousin to my husband. She is the daughter of William Payne and Sophronia Weatherby.(Melody)
