Obituary:
BLANCHE HUGGARD OVARD
Sept. 30, 1921 – Sept. 28, 2012
Mom returned home to her Heavenly Father on September 28, 2012 surrounded by her family. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she loved her family more than anything in this world. Her happiest times were spent surrounded by family, and she was always eager to talk about her boys and the rest of the family. The seventh of nine children, she was born on Sept. 30, 1921 to Frank and Ethel Ashton Huggard in American Fork, Utah. After graduating from American Fork High School in 1939, she worked at the Owl Inn in American Fork and later worked as a telephone operator. On June 19, 1947 she married the love of her life, Glen S. Ovard who had recently returned home from World War II. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They built a home in American Fork and started their family.
Blanche and Glen were blessed with four sons. They moved to Murray in 1962, and Blanche lived there until 2009. Being a wife and mother were always her top priorities, but she also worked at and retired from Deseret Medical where she assembled medical devices. After retirement Blanche and Glen enjoyed traveling south during the winter months. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various positions.
Blanche will be greatly missed by her sons C (V), B (W), S (Fiancé, C) and D(L) Ovard, as well as her 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Glen, daughter-in-law Kathy Ovard, and all eight of her brothers and sisters.
The family wishes to convey our sincere appreciation for the loving, tender care provided by the owners and staff at Ashford Memory Care.
Funeral services will be held on Friday October 5, 2012, at 11:00 am at the Murray 11th Ward, 5750 Nena Way, Murray, Utah. Family and friends may call Thursday from 6-8 pm at the Mountain View Memorial Mortuary, 3115 E. 7800 S. Cottonwood Heights, Utah, and Friday at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment at Mountain View Memorial Estates. Family and friends may sign the guest book and share memories of Blanche at www.memorialutah.com.
