Mildred F. Kiene, 92, of Davenport, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2011, at Carrington Place in Muscatine, just three days away from her 93rd birthday.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2011, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Chaplain Harold Schutte will officiate the services. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery in Wilton. Following the committal services a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Moose Lodge in Muscatine.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2011, with a Women of the Moose Service to be held at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Mildred's name.

Mildred Faye Rick was born on September 22, 1918, in Wilton Junction, Iowa, the daughter of George Essley and Rosina Hagerman Rick. She was united in marriage to Bert Frank Kiene on February 14, 1942, in Kahoka, Missouri.

Mildred had been employed at Davenshire's Clothing. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Muscatine and enjoyed playing bingo, sewing, cooking, gardening and living in her cabin on the Cedar River.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, George E. Rick; a sister, Hazel Stewart; a sister-in-law, Ardis Rick; a brother-in-law, Herman Stewart; and son-in-law, Larry Kepler.
