She had a love for animals and a compassionate, caring soul for people and animals alike. Recently, Bertha was attending the First Baptist Church of Afton. Bertha had a sweetness to her that will be sorely missed by many, including her daughters, Ellen Hughs and her companion Charles McKendrick of Sidney, Laura and Don Lisenby of Sidney and their children, Ryan, Sean, Garrett and Heather and Diana and Curt Bullis of Afton and their children, Nathaniel, Dawson, Curtis and Zachary; her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Neil Reigle of Binghamton, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. A celebration of Bertha's life with be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29 at the First Baptist Church, Caswell St., Afton, with Rev. Chris Prezorski, pastor offi ciating. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Sidney. In lieu of fl owers, donations in Bertha's memory may be made to the Delaware Valley Humane Society, 101 East Main St. Sidney, NY 13838.
