Harold J. Rasmussen, Sr., 88, of Watertown, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at his residence.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2012 at Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel in Watertown with Reverend Steven Bailey officiating.

Visitation will be Friday from 4-8:00 p.m., January 4, 2013 at Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel.

Military Honors will be conducted by Codington County Post 17 of the American Legion, SD Army National Guard Honors Team and Patriot Riders.

Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Clark.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Houston Moffett, Christopher and Joshua Harrington.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Dudley, Jr., Nicholas Harrington, Seth Rasmussen Daniel Rasmussen, Bradley Engelhart and Bryan Engelhart.

Harold James Rasmussen, Sr. was born February 25, 1924 to Martin L. and Nellie J. (Spilde) Rasmussen, at home in Codington County, near Vienna, South Dakota. He grew up in the Garden City/Vienna area attending public schools in Clark County through May 31, 1940. He married Iva May Holmes on September 3, 1946 in Clark. Harold was employed by Community Oil as a rural delivery oil truck driver in Watertown from 1947-1983.

He was a member of the American Legion in Watertown.

Harold enjoyed his family, listening to country music, singing, yodeling, fishing and hunting.

Harold is survived by his children, Ginger (John) Harrington of Albert Lea, MN, Harold (Amy) Rasmussen Jr. of Nemo, SD, June D. Rasmussen of Volga, SD, Dennis (Leah) Rasmussen of Wichita, KS and Jill (Kevin) Engelhart of Sioux Falls, SD; his siblings, Joyce Mischke of Grand Rapids, MN, Nell McLean of Grand Rapids, MN and Martin Rasmussen of Hazel, SD; 21 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Iva; his siblings, Les, Lilian, Helen, Ruth and Roy.
