Services for Everett Paul Stewart, 64, of Lubbock will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles F. Johnson officiating.

Cremation will be under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.

He died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, in Covenant Medical Center. He was born Oct. 10, 1935, at Dallas. He married Dolores Dee Poage on Aug. 28, 1958, in Tulia. He also lived in Dallas. He graduated from Tulia High School. He attended West Texas State College and then graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor's of science degree in chemistry in 1957. Following graduate work at Texas Technological College in Lubbock in chemistry, he received his doctorate degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1963.

In 1966, he joined the English, Hunt and Upshaw Medical Group at West Texas Clinic in Lubbock. He began individual practice in 1977. He created the Allergy Clinic of Lubbock. He retired from medical practice April 1, 2000. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve Early Commission Program, then the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Corps from 1962 to 1968. He was a fourth generation family physician.

He served on the hospital staff of Parkview Hospital in Wheeler, West Texas Hospital, Methodist Hospital, and St. Mary's of the Plains, all of Lubbock.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Paul Jr. of Atlanta; three daughters, Ronda Stewart-Wilcox of San Francisco, Karen Thompson of Lubbock and Sandy Burton of Austin; and six grandchildren.
