Mrs. Hooker, Resident of County 60 Years, Died Sunday, June 12

Funeral services for Mrs. Caroline Hooker, who died Sunday, June 12th, at the age of 86 years, were held Tuesday afternoon from the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Niles, Center street, the Rev. F.C. Richardson, officiating. Interment was in the Waupaca cemetery.
Mrs. Hooker, whose maiden name was Caroline Clark, was born in Alleghany county, N.Y. state, on Dec. 15, 1840, and came to Wisconsin with her parents when she was eleven years old. The family lived at Port Washington for some time, later moving to Waupaca county. The deceased was married to A. Berry before the Civil war, and one child, Mrs. George Niles of this city, was born of this union. Mr. Berry was killed in the war and his widow later married Albert Bentley.
She later married Levi Hooker. Mrs. Hooker lived for more than 60 years in the vicinity of Waupaca, and for 40 years resided on a farm west of the city, near Chady’s Corners.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. George Niles, two grandchildren, Blanche and Paul Niles, all of this city, and one sister, Mrs. Jeannette Nims of Tacoma, Wash.
