She was united in marriage in 1847, Jan 21, to Casper Kaufman who preceded her in death 38 years ago. To this union were born 13 children; 5 girls and 8 boys, one boy died in infancy. All but one of the twelve yet living were present, the six sons, which had been the mother's request, impressively laid her to rest.
Besides 2 brothers and 1 sister, five daughters and seven sons, 49 grand and 27 great grand children mourn their loss.
The services were at the house conducted by Rev. C.F. Hartung of Harmony. Interment was made at Butler.
Mrs. Kaufman was a daughter of Mr. Simon Wise, cooper by trade residing in Zelienople in the home yet standing in Clay Street and Grandview.
