A hunter found the grave of, "Wiley J. Spence" up in the head of a holler in the mountains. Its on Private land in Wythe.Co., Va., just a mile or so from the battle of Cove Mountain.
The grave says "Wiley J. Spence Co. D 45th. Inf. C.S.A."
Looks like a southern cross engraved in the stone at the top.
