He is survived by his wife: Thelma Chaney Amburgey; sons: Darius, Hagan, Sammy Jr., Danny Ray, Alger B., Donald Wayne, Mitchell, Aaron and Lyndon; daughters: Polly Sue Couch, Leevon Moore, Rhoda Minks, Freda Amburgey, Kathy Luttrell and Belinda Couch; host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by children: Dwight and Ricky Amburgey, Evelyn Clayton, Joanna Farris and Sevilla Nicholson; brothers and sister: Bill, Denny and Sherill Amburgey and Goldie Madden.
