T. J. Basham Dies from Injury. Thomas Joseph Basham, died at 6 pm August 4 at Norton Infirmary in Louisville from injuries sustained last Thursday on the farm of his son, Lonnie Basham, southeast Cloverport. Accurate details of the accident are unknown as there were no witnesses. Mr Basham had gone into the pasture to chase out a mule who had gotten into the field with the cattle. He received serious injuries in this endeavor, and was given treatment at the local clinic. He was then rushed to Norton Infirmary, but never regained consciousness. Mr. Basham, who was 75 years old, is survived by one son, Lonnie; and 3 daughters, Mrs. Silas Hawkins of Louisville, Mrs. Arvey C Carman, of Rineyville, and Mrs. Hubert Greenwood. His wife, Mrs. Betty L Hawkins, and one son preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at the Dhonau Funeral Home at 2 pm Thursday, with Rev William Varble officiating. Burial in Cloverport cemetery, E B Vititoe, Wave Jennings, Hammond May, Austin Pate, C L Thompson, and Tom Jennings will serve as pallbearers. Dhonau Funeral Home in charge.
