JUANITA E. "SKEETS" JOHNSON, 89, of Annawan, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline, IL.

A memorial mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Annawan.

The Rev. Timothy Sauppe will celebrate.

Inurnment will follow at the Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL. There is no visitation. Cremation rites have been accorded and Vandemore Funeral Homes, Atkinson, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Memorials may be left to the Rosewood Care Center, Moline, IL, Heartland Hospice or Sacred Heart Church, Annawan.

Skeets was born August 14, 1917 in Galva, IL, the daughter of Thomas and Florence Matson Atwell.

She married Lloyd DeReu on April 29, 1936. He preceded her in death.

She later married Elmer W. Johnson on August 3, 1963 in Moline. He passed away in 1996.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Annawan. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and cards.

She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

Those left to honor her memory are four daughters and spouses: Connie & Bill Queenan, Valrico, FL; Sharon & Frank Gripp, Annawan, IL; Pamela and Dennis Kolway, Reno, NV; and Joline and Kevin Williams, Fairview Heights, IL; one stepson and spouse, Michael and Christine Johnson, Clearwater, FL; 31 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and daughter-in-law, Dirk and Rita DeReu, three brothers and one sister.
