Harold S. Fisher, 87, Corydon, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation-Harrison in Corydon.

Born Oct. 5, 1925, in New Albany, he was the son of John Edward and Ruth Crosby Fisher.

He was an employee of Brown-Williamson Tobacco Co. in Louisville and a member of VFW Post 2950, where he was the former post chaplain in Corydon, and of Bethany United Methodist Church in New Middletown.

Survivors include his wife, the former Norma Payton; two sons, Ronald G. Fisher of New Salisbury and Mark A. Fisher of Corydon; a sister, Ann Yeager of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Tuesday, Jan. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 2, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Jan. 3, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.

Funeral: Thursday, Jan. 3, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

Officiant: Pastor Stephen McAfee.

The family suggests memorial gifts to his church.
