Mary Jo Marshall, age 66, of North Platte, died Dec. 29, 2012, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center.
She was born on Oct. 8, 1946, in Rushville, to Herman and Lucille (McGannon) Arthur. Mary Jo graduated from Assumption Academy in Chadron in 1965. She moved to Denver for a short while before moving back to Chadron. On Oct. 14, 1967, Mary Jo married Lou Marshall in Chadron. The couple lived in Oelric, S.D., as well as Harrison, Hay Springs, Kearney, and Cozad, where she worked at Warnke State Farm Insurance. In 1991, they moved to North Platte where she worked for State Farm Insurance with Wayne Johnson and Jim Waldschmidt. She currently was working for Bill Burbach State Farm Insurance.
Mary Jo was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, enjoyed sewing, wine collecting, and traveling, especially in the Black Hills.
Survivors include her husband Lou, of North Platte; her daughters, Karen Woldt, of Cozad, Deanna (Casey) Wilson, of Cozad, and Deborah (Terence) McIntyre, of North Platte; a sister, Patty (Jerry) Nebel, of Denver; brothers, Paul (Mary) Arthur, of Rapid City, S.D., and Tim (Deb) Arthur, of Aurora; a sister-in-law, Shirley Arthur, of Hastings; brother and sister-in law, Harry (Linda) Marshall; a sister and brother-in-law, Jan (Bruce) Garner; grandchildren, Brandon and Rylee Woldt, Heather, Cody, Jarod, and Timothy Wilson, and Katie McIntyre; and numerous other family members and friends.
Christian wake services will be at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 2, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. A mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 3, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. James Golka as celebrant. Inurnment will be at Chadron. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements..
