John T. Faircloth was a private who enlisted on May 5th 1862 with Company C - the 57th Infantry Regiment of the Confederate States Army of Laurens County, Georgia. John died in a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia on November 28th of 1862, with pneumonial.

John was the son of Robert Lee and Evalina Grady Faircloth. John married Mary Amanda Witherington on June 27th of 1858. They had two sons, James Robert and John David Faircloth.

died in Atlanta Hospital on 21st of November, 1862 John T Faircloth, 21, of Laurens County, Georgia. The deceased entered Confederate service as a
Private in Company C, 57th Georgia Regiment on May 8, 1862 and served his country faithfully until the time of death.
Though he was not a professor of religion, he expressed no fear at the approach of death and said he was ready to meet his Creator. His remains were interred in the city and remained for one month when they were removed to the family burying ground near his residence in Laurens County.
He leaves a wife and 2 sons besides a numerous circle of relatives and friends to mourn his loss. Peace to his memory
