Life and Death of Erwin V. Francis

Erwin Victor Francis, former resident of the Ottertail-Richville community, died January 6, 1943, at Antelope, Mont.

Mr. Francis was born Jan. 12, 1874 at Austin, Minn., and was married to Miss Ethelyn Fairchild, July 1, 1903 at Ottertail. They resided in that community until 1907 when they took a homestead seven miles southeast of Antelope, resident there until 1936. Retiring from the farm they moved to Antelope to reside.

Mr. and Mrs. Francis were the parents of eight children. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, six sons— Maylon of Wyoming, Arnold and Lyle of Antelope; Shirley and Gordon of Bremerton, Wash., and Donovan, who is with the armed forces and now located at Camp Barkeley, Texas, and two daughters— Miss Verna Francis of Bremerton, Wash., and Mrs. Vernon Stevens of Plentywood, Mont. Eighteen grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers as well as a host of friends will cherish his memory.

Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church at Antelope, Rev. Sidney officiating. Two hymns were sung, "When I Go Home", by the choir; and "Just As I Am" by Thelma Simundsen. Interment was in the Eden Valley cemetery beside his father.
