Funeral services for the late August Kuehn, former La Salle resident who passed away early Sunday in Peru were held this afternoon. The remains were taken from the family home on east Fourth Street at half past one o’clock and at two services were held at the German Evangelical Church. Interment was made at Peru City cemetery.
Mr. Kuehn who had worked for the Illinois Zinc Company for a number of years, died following a long siege of asthma, which became serious a month ago. He was a native of Germany, where he was born November 3, 1845. At the age of thirty-one he came to America, settling in La Salle, and in 1877 he was married to Amelia Fritz.
The following children survive: Mrs. Robert Fritz, Peru; Mr. William Thompson, La Salle; Misses Amanda and Martha Kuehn and Gustav and Otto Kuehn, all of Peru.
