“J. Willard Costello, 37-Year Resident of S.B., Succumbs

J. Willard Costello, 68, of 4192 Ferndale Ave., San Bernardino, died Saturday in a Long Beach hospital. A native of Butte, Mont., he had resided in San Bernardino 37 years and in California 43 years.

He retired about eight years ago from owning and managing a feed and garden supply store in San Bernardino. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of St Anne’s Catholic Church.

His widow, Katherine E., is corporate secretary for Santa Fe Savings and Loan Association in San Bernardino.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by three sons, Roger W., Richard W. and Thomas M., all of San Bernardino; a daughter Mrs. Patricia Anda of Highland; a brother, Norman G. Costello of Gilroy; and five grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. today at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at S. Anne’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery.”
