Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late James Harold and Martha Florence Cobb Austin.
Mrs. Paterek was retired from Southern Bell and was a member of Northside Baptist Church, Lexington.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Arango of Lexington; two sons, Bob Paterek and wife, Patty, of Naperville, IL and Dan Paterek and wife, Laura, of Lexington; and grandchildren, Austin Paterek, Alejandro "Aley" Arango, Katie Paterek and Anna Paterek.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
