Mrs. Goldie Bishop, 43-year-old former Homer woman, died at her home at 220 Sidell street, Danville, Monday after being bedfast for about seven weeks. The cause of her death was dropsy and heart trouble.
Funeral services were held from the Callahan & Callahan funeral home, Danville, at 1:30 p. m. Wednesday with Reverend Vernon Martin of the Muncie Baptist church officiating. Interment was in G. A. R. cemetery here.
Mrs. Bishop was born near Fairmount Oct. 23, 1900, the daughter of Rosa Ellen and Charles Bumgart. The father died Dec. 4, 1923.
She was married to Alvin Bishop of Catlin on April 12, 1920. The couple’s oldest son, Charles, died at the age of four months.
Survivors are the husband and the following children: First Sergeant Raymond, stationed near Little rock, Ark.; Naomi Jameson, Danville; Anna, Lewis and Rosie, at home. Also left are Mrs. Bishop’s mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. George Smith of Homer; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Rushing, St. Joseph and Mrs. Dorothy Steffey, Homer, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bishop attended the Danville Baptist church.
