Lydia was the daughter of William Charles Woodward and Celia Mae "Sealy" Burkhalter Woodward of Aiken County. She died in approximately 1905. She was last seen on a 1900 census in Edgefiled, S.C. By 1910, her husband was listed as a widower and living with his son in GA. She died between 1900 and 1910.

Amos married Lydia Woodward in 1865 at the end of the war. They had 11 children, but only 5 lived to age 25 or older. He lived with his son, Brooks, at the end of his life in Augusta, GA. He died around 1915 but date is not exact. He was last seen on a 1910 census with his son.
