A. E. BERLIN , Last rites for A. E. Berlin, prominent Rock Falls citizen and former chief of police, were held Thursday afternoon at 2 from the late home and 2:30 from the Wheelock funeral home. Rev. Harry E. Shiffer, the Rock Falls Christian church, preached the funeral sermon directing comforting passages of scripture to the bereaved family. During the services Mrs. H. E. Shiffer and Mrs. Leonard Skaggs sang three hymns, 'The Old Rugged Cross,' 'Beautiful Isle of Somewhere,' and 'Rock of Ages.' Mrs. Austin Corzett accompanied at the piano. There were many beautiful floral pieces silently paying tribute to the memory of the departed. Six members of the Rock Falls elementary school board, L. L. Winn, Charles A. Smith, H. F. Figeley, Herman Oltman, E. C. Wolf and L. C. Pfulb, were pallbearers. Interment took place in the Odd Fellows cemetery, Rock Falls.
