CHARLES H. MABE, 73, of Manlius RD 2, died yesterday at his home after a heart attack.
Mr. Mabe was a native of Dubuque, Iowa, and had been a resident of Manlius 38 years. He was a member of the Manlius Methodist Church and the Manlius Lodge, F&AM, and the Fayetteville Grange, 610.
He was a retired guard of the Jamesville Penitentiary. He had also been employed by the Precision Die Casting Corp of Fayetteville.
Mr. Mabe is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Mabe; two sons, Burton E. Mabe of Watertown an Stanley F. Mabe of Manlius; two foster-sons, Joseph Moore, Manlius and Albert Pfohl; a brother, Roy E. Mabe of Ames, Iowa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Goodfellow-Newell Funeral Home, 403 Pleasant St., Manlius. Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
