She married William Pirkle, about 1785, Rockingham County, North Carolina. They reared their family and farmed on the banks of Great Rock House Creek.

The map at right shows Wolf Island Creek, where Sarah grew up and Rock House Creek where she raised her family.

She was the mother of fifteen children;
