Doris L. Metsger, 94, of Scottdale, former resident of Susan's Victoria Cottage, passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, in Mt. View Specialty Care Center, Unity Township. Doris was born Sept. 21, 1913, at Reagantown in East Huntingdon Township, a daughter of the late Oliver E. and Katherine Snyder Aspey. She was married to Cash A. Metsger, who passed away June 20, 1970. Doris was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Years ago, she was a sales clerk at the former Royer's Department Store at Greengate Mall. She was a longtime and faithful member of Christ United Methodist Church in Scottdale and a former member of the FRS Sunday School Class and the Women's Society. She was also a graduate of East Huntingdon High School, Class of 1931. Doris will be sadly missed by her devoted family; her daughter, Debra A. Clawson, of Greensburg, and her fiance, Chuck Blaser; her six grandchildren, Ray D. Clawson III, of Scottdale, Rachel D. Clawson, of Greensburg, Richard D. Clawson, of Scottdale, Chris Breegle, of Smithton, Stu Breegle, of West Newton, and Jeff Breegle, of Scottdale; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Markwood Rigor, Nov. 25, 2006; a stepdaughter, Carol S. Breegle, March 22, 1999; and two sisters, Iona Stoner, June 23, 1997, and Jane Hawk, May 26, 2002. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B.
