Mrs. Wilcox was a co-founder with her husband, the late Rev. Linford C. Wilcox, of Operation Concern Inc., a charity that helped the needy in Palm Beach County.
Born in Ellicottville, NY, on June 5, 1925, she was the daughter of William W. Lawson and Gertrude M. (nee Newton Lawson. She grew up in Salamanca, NY and graduated from Salamanca High School in 1942. She attended Houghton College in Houghton, NY, where she met her husband. They were married on July 4, 1945. They lived in Five Mile, NY, Smethport, PA, and Edinboro, PA, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in art from Edinboro College. They moved to West Palm Beach in 1966.
Mrs. Wilcox was an accomplished painter, stained glass artist and gardener. She was a member of First Baptist Church of West Palm Beach.
Interment will be at Lake Worth Memory Gardens. Donations can be made to the Artist Wilcox Art Scholarship, Houghton College Development Office, Houghton, NY, 14744 or to Seagull Industries for the Disabled, 3879 Byron Dr., West Palm Beach, FL 33404.
