Mrs. Owens was born on January 29, 1929, in Williamsburg County, daughter of the late James Clyde Baker and Valeria Hutto Baker. She was a homemaker, a graduate of Hebron High School and a lifetime member of Hebron United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and the children's nursery. Mrs. Owens was the past leader of the Methodist Youth Fellowship, and was a member of various Women's Circles. She also served as the Past President of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kristi Owens; sister, Hope Evans; brother, James C. Baker, Jr.
