Frank was the son of Dr. Emil Kirchgessner and Lillian Heath Kirchgessner. Frank changed his last name when he was young. Frank and Jean McLelland married in London, Ontario, Canada in 1917 while he was stationed in Canada during WWI.

In 1919 they moved to Tacoma, Washington where their four children were born. Before the war, he had been a tailor but because of wounds he received he was no longer able to continue in that career. He became a foreman of the Sperry Flour Company in Tacoma, Washington.

After the death of his wife Jean, Frank married Mary Sloppy and later married Edith Jarles.

OBIT - May 22, 1955 Tacoma News Tribune - Frank S. Kirk, 61, of 5408 So. Thompson Ave., died Friday in a local hospital. Born in Medford OR., he came from Oregon 36 years ago. Mr. Kirk who was a member of the Parkside Church and the American Federation of Grain Millers, served with the Canadian Army during WWI.

He leaves his wife Edith; two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Nadir of Tacoma and Mrs. Edith Penn of Portland; two granddaughters and two sisters, Mrs. Edith Hunt of Evanston, Ill. And Mrs. Eva McCormick of Hollywood, CA.
Services will be announced by the Mountain View Funeral Home.
