CONARD, MYRTLE MANTOOTH - age 89 of Newport, passed away Saturday evening at her home after a lingering illness. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Luther Conard; parents, William and Rilda Hicks Mantooth; brother, Howard Mantooth; sisters, Margaret, Lora, Pearl Mantooth, and Emma Mantooth Click; grandson, James Justin Conard. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Ora Lee Conard, Lewis and Gwen Conard of Newport, Wallace Conard of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Dewey Grigsby of Newport; grandchildren, Sandra Conard O'conner, Rhonda and Freddy Naillon of Newport, Regina Conard, Jackie Jenkins, Whitney Conard Vassallo, Ashley and Dave Healy of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Jakob Jenkins and Piper Vassallo of Knoxville, Lindsey and Cody Naillon of Newport; sister-in-law, Vera Mantooth of Newport. Special friends and care givers, Katherine Raper, Ima Hall, Nona Stokley, Chasity Turner, Joyce Guillon and Heather Arnold of The Smokey Mountain Hospice. Funeral service will be 3 pm Wednesday, December 26 at the Brown Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ransom Hall and Rev. Scott Gorrell officiating. The family will receive friends from noon til 3 pm prior to the service. Interment will be in the Inman Cemetery. Browns, Newport in charge.
