BRANDON
Ernest Brandon, son of Virgie and Wm. Brandon, passed away March 26, 1985 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. He was born in Monroe County, Iowa April 23, 1916.
He grew to manhood in the Confidence Community. He married Wilda Stuteville in 1940 and one son, Michael, blessed this union.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Reta.
He enjoyed the outdoors. When his health permitted he hunted, fished and trapped, but in later years camping took his fancy.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Wilda; son, Michael and daughter-in-law, Kathy; grandchildren, Jackie and husband, Denny, Brenda and Shane; great-grandchildren, Rosanna and Dawnielle; one brother, E. W. Brandon and wife, Irene of Plano; one half-brother, Joe Ruark, besides a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rev. Jerry Hambleton conducted funeral services. Pallbearers were Homer Curtis, Dorsey Gunn, Fay Craig, Jerry Nichols, Rex McAninch and Guilford Davis. Honorary bearers were Ray Pieratt, Vernon Owens, Hugh Smith, Ed Witt and Harold DeBok. Interment was at Confidence Cemetery. Military rites by Russell E. Marshall American Legion Post No. 68, Corydon, Iowa.
