OBITUARY :
GEORGE W. HAFER, formerly of 421 W. King Street, Chambersburg, died at Pine's Convalescent Home Sunday afternoon, aged 78.

Born in Franklin County, Pa., in 1876, he was the son of the late David and Sarah A. (Bowers) Hafer.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and served on the church council for many years. He was a local rural mail carrier for many years, being retired for the past 13 years. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge of St. Thomas, Pa. for many years.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Elmer Andrews, Thurmont, Md., grandchildren, Rev. David Andrews, Dillsburg, Pa.; and Mrs. Roy Clever, Shippensburg, Pa., and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Kraiss Funeral Home, Chambersburg, Pa., Thursday at 10 a.m. Rev. Martin F. Foutz and the Rev. Paul B. Lucas officiating. Viewing will be Wednesday evening from 7 to 9. Interment will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
