John Worthington Jr. was born in Vineyard, Texas, September 14,1927. He was the son of John and Eva Christian Worthington. John's father passed away, when he was only 5 years of age, and his mother married James Columbus Akin, who would raise John as his own son. John married Ann Keeran. He worked as a tool pusher for Linmour Drilling Company for 25 years when he retired in 1981. John was a member of Fort Richardson Masonic Lodge # 326 in Jacksboro, Texas; the Scottish Rite of Fort Worth, Texas; Maskat Mounted Patrol and Black Horse Hella of Dallas, Texas. He was very proud of his 60 year pin he received as a Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Ann. John passed away Thursday, December 27,2012 in Jacksboro, Texas. He was 85 years old.

John is survived today by his daughter, Vickie McAnear and husband Joe of Jacksboro, Texas; son, John "Terry" Worthington and wife Caroline of Jacksboro; and his grandchildren, Misty McAnear; Lacy Myrick and husband Brian and Dustin Worthington; as well as his great grandchildren, Kailey and Shelby Myrick; Makenna McAnear and J.D., Levi and Colton Worthington.
