Oswald Nathan "Ozzie" King, resident of East Wenatchee, WA, died peacefully on December 20, 2012 at his home at Hearthstone Cottage in East Wenatchee.

He was born July 30, 1918, in Lebam, Washington to Henry Nathan & Olive Jane (Russell) King. His early years were spent in Lebam, moving to the Yakima Valley when he was ten. He attended school in Wapato through the tenth grade. He finished the 11th grade at Trout Lake, Washington staying with his older sister and her husband Dot & Dave Craig. He dropped out of school his senior year, then getting his diploma after the war. Oswald King married Wilhelmina Andreas on August 7, 1942, in Wichita Falls, TX, while Ozzie was serving in the Army Air Corps. They were happily married for 68 years and raised two devoted sons. Oz and Willie worked together in the fruit industry, first at Wapato and Grandview, then in the Wenatchee area, retiring from Columbia River Orchards. Together they built their home in 1980, in East Wenatchee. It was here in East Wenatchee that they opened their home to family and friends. Ozzie loved to tinker with small wood projects in his garage.

Ozzie is preceded in death by his loving wife, Wilhelmina; parents, Henry and Olive King; sisters, Addie Morris, Ardith Early, Esther Olson, Zelma Howard and Dorthella Craig; one infant brother. He is survived by a sister, Lillian, of Issaquah, WA; a brother John of Boise, ID; his children, Ronald (Lynn) of Deer Park, WA and Greg (Marci) of East Wenatchee, WA; grandchildren, Brian (Melissa), Anthony, Marianne, Rachel and Angie; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces; and nephews.

Rosary will be held at 7:30 PM, Friday, December 28, 2012 at Jones & Jone - Betts Funeral Home, 302 Ninth Street, Wenatchee, WA. Viewing will be from 10:00 to 11:30 AM on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at Jones & Jones - Betts Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 29, 2012, at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 1315 8th Street N.E., East Wenatchee, WA. Interment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park, East Wenatchee, WA immediately following the service.
