Muscatine (IA) Journal and News-Tribune, Thurs. Aug. 17, 1941, p. 18:2. Police Head for Arms Plant Named. Des Moines, Ia. -(AP)- Clyde M. Petre, 34, assistant police chief at the Rock Island, Ill., arsenal has been appointed head of the Des Moines ordnance plant guard force which will number 250 by the time the plant is completed.

Mason City Globe Gazette, Tues. Mar. 5, 1957, p. 13:1. Clyde M. Petre, 49, and his child have come to Mason City from Ft. Dodge. He is working for the Trans Continenetal Clearing House out of Chicago as an appraiser. While in Ft. Dodge, he worked as a salesman for Northland Products Co. for four years. Petre and his child are living in apartment 356 in Kirk Apartments. They are Protestants.

Des Moines Register, Oct. 13, 1965. California Rites For Clyde Petre. Services were held Monday in Englewood Calif., for Clyde M. Petre, 58, who died of a heart attack Oct. 4. Mr. Petre, a salesman, had lived in Des Moines from 1940 until he moved to the West Coast in 1957. He was a Mason and a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons, George M. and Dennis T., both of Des Moines.
