Steve Heyward Dies Saturday

Funeral services for Stephen D. (Steve) Heyward, 79, 113 Bellevue Drive, widely known resident of Cleburne for 57 years and a veteran retired railroad man will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at Crosier - Pearson Chapel.

Heyward died Saturday morning at Santa Fe Hospital in Temple after an illness of about 10 days.

He was chief mechanical draftsman and apprentice instructor at Santa Fe shops here. He retired July 01, 1950 after 48 years of service.

He was born June 30, 1880 at Savannah Georgia, the son of George C. and Margaret Doar Heyward.

He was a member of the Church of the Holy Comforter and the Elks Lodge. Burial will be in the Cleburne cemetery with Father Henry T. Bakewell officiating.

He is survived by his wife: a son Stephen Hayward Jr. of Cleburne; a daughter, Mrs. J Carl Roberts of Cleburne; three brothers, George Heyward, Arthur Heyward, and Edward Heyward all of Savannah Ga.; and two grandchildren
