Martha Day, 81, Dies at Hospital

GREENWOOD, Aug. 3 --- Mrs. Martha Eudora Day, age 81, died in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis Wednesday morning at 2:50 o'clock.

An invalid for two years, Mrs. Day's condition became worse two weeks ago it became necessary to send her to a hospital.

Funeral services are to be conducted at the J. C. Wilson mortuary Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock with burial in the Greenwood cemetery.

The body has been taken to the funeral home were (sic) friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday and are invited to attend the rites.

Born at Greenwood

Born at Greenwood Jan. 21, 1868, she was the daughter of Robert G. Henry and Sarah J. Stewart Henry. Her entire life had been spent here. In her girlhood Mrs. Day united with the Greenwood Christian church and she had retained her affiliation there.

Married to August Day about 60 years ago, she was the mother of one daughter, Mrs. Joseph Drake, former Franklin resident who died in 1938. Mr. Day preceded her in death ten years ago.

The survivors are a sister, Mrs. Edward Day, of Greenwood; one brother, Robert Henry, of Indianapolis; a grandson, William Drake, of Greenwood, and three great-grandchildren, Katherine Ruth, Kenneth William and Mary Andrea Drake, all of Greenwood.
