Marilene Louise (Jane) Sennert, age 82 of Storm Lake (formerly of Linn Grove) died December 24, 2012 at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake.

Marilene Louise Jesse was born on 6/10/30, in Sioux Valley Hospital Cherokee, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Hulda (Otto) Jesse. She was baptized 6/29/30 and confirmed 6/18/44 at St. John Lutheran Church, Storm Lake. She was nicknamed "Jane" by brother Marvin before he could say Marilene, and it stuck. She attended school at Hayes, Sulphur Springs, and business school at Chillicothe, Missouri, then worked at Consumers Supply Company in Storm Lake.

Marilene "Jane" was united in marriage to Richard Sennert at St. John Lutheran Church, Storm Lake on 6/4/50. Together they were blessed with 3 sons Randal, Ronald & David.

Jane's life centered around faith, family, friends and farming in Buena Vista County Iowa. She had the gift of hospitality, her willing hands were always busy. She loved to cook and entertain. She would be in church on Sunday morning….connecting with family and friends all week long, and be watching over the family's farming business….Proverbs 31:10-31 come to mind. Jane lived with a mechanical heart valve for 27 years and saw the medical community frequently dealing with heart/blood issues. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, and playing cards. She had a passion for perfection, was an avid flower gardener, and loved chocolate.

Jane loved "her boys" Richard, Randal, Ronald and David; her daughter-in-laws Donna, Barbara and Rita; and always her "precious" grandchildren. She was a hands on grandma, always followed their many activities, and made special time for each grandchild. She intentionally passed down her German heritage.

Jane was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Alta, and was an active member in the Ladies Aid. Jesus was her Lord and Savior. Jane's days began and ended with prayer. Her family loved her and she will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Richard of 62 years; Randal (Donna) Sennert Storm Lake; Ronald (Barbara) Sennert, Linn Grove; David (Rita) Sennert, Pocahontas; 6 grandchildren: John Sennert, Cedar Falls, Iowa; Karen (Matt) Higgins, Andover, Minnesota; Amy (Randall) Kaufmann, Lenexa, Kansas; Christina Sennert, Waterloo, Iowa; Nick (Mary) Sennert, Mankato, Minnesota; Kate Sennert, Ames, Iowa, and one great-grandchild Thomas Higgins, Andover, Minnesota; one sister-in-law Sheila Jesse, Storm Lake, and extended family and friends.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Hulda Jesse; brothers Marvin Jesse; and Norman Jesse and sister-in-law Renae Jesse.
