Services Held for Albert J. Spurlin, Age 58

Funeral services for Albert J. Spurlin, 58, who died Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock at his home in Marietta were held at the Marietta M.P. Church of which he was a member at 10 o'clock Monday morning.

The Rev. John Kreig pastor of the church officiated and burial was in the Miller Cemetery in charge of C.F. Fix & Son Funeral Directors.

Mr. Spurlin's death was caused by pneumonia which he had been suffering for the past two weeks.

He was born in Marietta, May 18, 1878 the son of Elihu and Nancy Ellen Spurlin and had spent most of his life in Marietta.

His marriage to Miss Ida Terry who survives took place June 4, 1899.

One of the six children, William H. Spurlin at home survives.

Survivors also include four sisters, Mrs. Mollie Williams and Mrs. Amanda Pope both of Shelbyville, Mrs. Bertie Alnich of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Emma Huffman of Idaho; one brother. Clarence Spurlin of Shelbyville and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Spurlin was a former member of Kiowa Tribe of Red Men of Shelbyville and of the National Guards of Shelby County.
