Graveside services for Mrs. Gladys Lee Bell, 65, of Monterey were conducted. Monday, July 9, at the Monterey Cemetery by the Rev. James Tongue. Mrs. Bell died Saturday morning at a Staunton hospital. She had been in failing health for sometime. Mrs. Bell was born Jan. 6, 1908, In Pettigrew, Ark. and was a daughter of Isabel Hendrix and the late Joseph Hendrix. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Surviving; In addition to her mother, are two daughters, Mrs. Philip Merrywell of Houston, Tex. and Mrs. Homer Helmick of Monterey; three sisters, Mrs. Flora Brown of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Mrs. Anna Humes and Mrs. Alpha Moten. both of Stilwell, Okla.; three brothers, Earl Hendrix, Milan Hendrix, and Theodora Hendrix, all of Stilwell, Okla., and three grandchildren.
