Of Area, Succumbs
Miss Harriett Maude Jones, 68,
of 103 Clarence St., died at 6:30
p.m. yesterday in Bradford Hospital
after having been in failing
health for several years. Miss
Jones condition did not become
critical until early yesterday.
Born March 21, 1888, at Hawkins
Hollow, near here, she was the
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Henry H, Jones. Miss Jones was
one of the owners of Stewart's Market
in this city. She spent her entire
lifetime in or close to Bradford,
Miss Jones was a member of the
Business and Professional Women's
Club, the Episcopal Church of
the Ascension and St. Margaret's
Guild of the church.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Harry
Burritt, Cochranton, and several
nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Alanson C. Davis, rector
of her church, will conduct the
funeral service for Miss Jones at
11 a.m. Monday in the Koch-Chatley
Memoriail Chapel. Burial will
take place in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the chapel after
3 p.m. today.
