Mrs. Asa Bailey Dead
Mrs. Nancy Bailey, a former resident of Franklin county, died at the home of her son, Perry Bailey, at Clear Lake and the body was brot to Hampton for burial last Tuesday afternoon.

Mrs. Bailey, whose maiden name was Nancy Bennett, was eighty-four years of age at the time of her death. She was born at Newark, Ohio, and later moved with her parents to Wisconsin. She was married at Monroe, Wisconsin, to Asa C. Bailey and in 1872, they moved to Franklin county, Iowa. For a number of years they resided west of Sheffield in Richland township, later moving to Thornton. Mr. Bailey preceded his wife in death about fifteen years ago.

The deceased was an aunt of D.W. Parks and Mrs. A.P. Millett, of Hampton, and besides these relatives, she is survived by two sons, Perry Bailey, of Clear Lake, and Elmer Bailey, who resides in Canada, and by two daughters, Mrs. Frank Hopley of Spokane, Washington, and Miss Clara Bailey, of Clear Lake.

Bailey Rites To Be Tuesday
Pastor of Thornton to Officiate at Perry Bailey Home.
Clear Lake, May 26 - Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy A. Bailey, 85, who died early Saturday morning, will be held at the home of her son, Perry bailey, 401 South Third street, at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. Mr. Heddle, Thornton, will officiate while the burial will be made at the family lot at Hampton.

Nancy Bennett Bailey was born July 6, 1845 in Licking county, Ohio. At the age of 9 years she moved with her parents to Green county, Wisconsin. At this place she was married to Asa Morton Bailey in 1862. Not long after their marriage, her husband enlisted in the union army and served until the end of the war. In 1874, they moved to Franklin county in Iowa where they lived until settling in Thornton in 1899. After Mr. Bailey's death in 1914, she continued to live in their Thornton home until three years ago. Since that time she has made her home with her son, Perry Bailey, South Third Street.

Surviving her death are four children: Elmer A. of Donalda, Alberta; Perry and Clara E. Bailey, Clear Lake, and Mrs. Lora E. Hopley, Spokane, Washington. All of the children will be present at the funeral service.
